Accuplacer Math
By: Academic Success Media
Are you taking the Accuplacer math test? If so, you will have lots of questions about what aspects of math are covered on the Accuplacer exam.
The Accuplacer test has three parts: reading, writing (grammar and sentence skills) and math.
Your college may ask you to take the complete Accuplacer test, or just a part or parts of the exam.
The Accuplacer math test has three parts:
-
arithmetic and numerical skills
-
elementary algebra
-
college-level math
In the same way mentioned above, your college may ask you to take the complete Accuplacer test of math, or just one of the three parts of the math exam.
Arithmetic and numerical skills on the Accuplacer include math problems like decimals, fractions, and understanding negative numbers.
Accuplacer elementary algebra covers operations with binomials and polynomials. These are the equations that include mathematical variables like x and y.
For elementary algebra, you will have to know how to factor polynomials and solve them for a given variable or variable.
Most students find the college-level math portion of the Accuplacer to be the most difficult part of the test.
You will have to know more advanced math skills for this part of the tests such as: matrices, permutations, combinations, systems of equations, graphing, square roots, exponents, and logarithmic functions.
For the college-level math portion of the Accuplacer, you will also have to solve complex algebraic problems (like fractions that have algebraic expressions in the numerator and denominator).
We have instantly downloadable practice test problems for the Accuplacer test of math.
